The range covers reds (Red Aswan, Royal Red, Red Fersan), Black Aswan, greys (Halayeb, New Halayeb, Karnak Grey), pinks (Rose El Nasr, Rosa Hoody, Gandolla), green and yellow Verdi and Brown Qusair. About Egyptian granite

Egypt has quarried granite for thousands of years: the red granite of Aswan was used for obelisks, columns and monuments in ancient times, and Aswan remains the source of Egypt's best-known reds and blacks. Today Egyptian granite ranges from the white and grey Halayeb stones to pinks such as Rose El Nasr and Rosa Hoody, the green and yellow Verdi stones and the brown Brown Qusair.

Unlike most Egyptian marbles, these are true igneous stones: hard, low in porosity and suited to both interiors and exteriors. Polished granite is used for floors, stairs, countertops and reception desks, while flamed and bush-hammered faces give grip for facades, steps and external paving. Colour and grain vary between blocks, so large projects are best ordered in one batch against an approved sample.

Frequently asked questions

Is Egyptian granite suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. Egyptian granites such as Red Aswan, Black Aswan and Halayeb are hard, low-porosity stones used for facades, steps and paving. A flamed or bush-hammered finish is normally specified outdoors for grip.

What colours does Egyptian granite come in?

The range covers reds (Red Aswan, Royal Red, Red Fersan), black (Black Aswan), white and grey (Halayeb, New Halayeb, Karnak Grey), pinks (Rose El Nasr, Rosa Hoody, Gandolla), green and yellow (Verdi) and brown (Brown Qusair).

Can Egyptian granite be used for kitchen countertops?

Yes. Polished Egyptian granite is used for countertops, bar tops and vanities. Like any natural stone, colour varies between slabs, so approve the actual slabs or a reference sample before fabrication.
