About Halayeb

Halayeb is the everyday grey of Egyptian granite, chosen when a project needs a neutral, even speckle at volume rather than a feature stone. From a distance it reads as a balanced mid-grey; up close the black, white and grey grains are evenly mixed, so tiles from different blocks blend well once colour-sorted. It is a true igneous granite with low porosity, which is why it is used for kerbs, plazas and pool surrounds as readily as for interior floors. Polished suits interiors; flamed or bush-hammered faces give slip resistance outside. It pairs with Black Aswan for borders. Contact us for available sizes and finishes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Halayeb and New Halayeb?

Both are grey Egyptian granites. Halayeb is a medium grey with a balanced black-and-white speckle. New Halayeb is lighter, closer to white-grey, with a finer, more consistent grain, which is why it is preferred for kitchens and large uniform floors.

Is Halayeb granite frost resistant?

Suppliers describe Halayeb as a dense, low-porosity granite resistant to frost, moisture and heat, and it is used for external paving and kerbs. For a specific climate, request the current production's absorption and freeze-thaw test data.
