Gandolla Egyptian granite slab

Gandolla Granite

Gandolla (also spelled Gandola) is a multicolour Egyptian granite blending grey, black, beige and pink minerals into a lively, textured pattern. The busy grain hides marks and water spots well, making it a practical choice for kitchen countertops, flooring, stairs and resilient facades, usually supplied with a polished finish.

About Gandolla

Gandolla is sold under half a dozen spellings, and the stone itself varies too: some blocks lean pink-red with pink feldspar, others read pinkish-grey with black and white speckle. That busy grain is the practical appeal, since it hides scratches, crumbs and water marks on worktops and in busy entrances. It is a coarse, crystalline granite from the Aswan belt with the low porosity typical of the region, so it is used as readily for facades and paving as for interiors. Polished intensifies the colours; flamed is recommended for outdoor floors. Contact us for available sizes and finishes.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gandolla the same as Gandola or Giandola?

Yes. Gandolla, Gandola, Giandola, Gandonna and Gandoula are transliterations of the same Egyptian granite name. Because the stone itself ranges from pink-red to pinkish-grey, agree on a reference slab photo rather than relying on the name.

Is Gandolla good for kitchen countertops?

Yes. The mixed pink, grey and black pattern conceals everyday marks, and the granite resists heat and scratching. It is usually supplied polished for kitchens and sealed for stain resistance.
