About Royal Red
Royal Red is the darkest of the Egyptian reds: a crimson-to-burgundy feldspar field with black and grey minerals that polishes to a saturated, glossy surface. Exporters position it as a high-end interior stone for reception floors and desks, but it carries the same low porosity and frost resistance as the other Egyptian granites and is used on facades and external paving in a flamed finish. Orders are colour-sorted because depth of red varies between blocks. It pairs strikingly with Black Aswan or with pale Galala Extra. Contact us for available sizes and finishes.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Royal Red and Red Aswan?
Royal Red is deeper and more burgundy, with a more uniform crystalline field. Red Aswan is a lighter pink-to-red with the coarse, porphyritic grain known from ancient obelisks. Both are Egyptian reds used for floors, facades and monuments.
Can Royal Red granite be used outside?
Yes. Suppliers describe it as dense, low in porosity and resistant to frost, heat and weathering, and list it for facades and exterior paving. Use a flamed finish on external floors; polished is best kept for interiors.
