About Karnak Grey
Karnak Grey is a quieter grey than Halayeb: the grain is finer and the speckle lower in contrast, so the surface reads as a soft, even grey rather than a salt-and-pepper mix. Each slab carries its own small mineral variations, which suppliers note should be checked on polished mini-slabs before ordering. It is sold by exporters in Egypt and distributors in Europe for worktops, entrance floors, facades and stairs in polished, honed, brushed and flamed finishes. Outdoor use is recommended with a flamed surface and suitable sealing. It sits well with Light Nilo Grey limestone in a monochrome scheme. Contact us for available sizes and finishes.
Frequently asked questions
How does Karnak Grey compare with Halayeb granite?
Both are grey Egyptian granites. Karnak Grey has a finer, more uniform grain and a subtler, lower-contrast look; Halayeb shows a bolder black-and-white speckle. Karnak Grey is often chosen for worktops and facades where a calm surface is wanted.
Is Karnak Grey suitable for exterior cladding?
Yes. Egyptian and European suppliers list it for exterior cladding, facades and outdoor stairs. Use a flamed or brushed finish outdoors, and request slip-resistance and absorption certificates for wet or external areas.
