Sunny Dark Marble
Sunny Dark sits at the deeper, amber end of the Sunny bed, with richer golden-beige tones and the same fine horizontal movement as its lighter grades. Quarried near Minya, this Egyptian marble is a popular and readily available choice for floors, facades, staircases and wall cladding, in polished, honed or textured finishes.

About Sunny Dark
Sunny Dark is the deepest grade of the Minya Sunny bed and is often used as the accent tone against Sunny Light or Galala in bordered floors. Colour depth varies between blocks, so for a large area it is worth approving a range of slabs rather than a single sample. The darker field is forgiving of everyday marks, but it is still a limestone: seal it, keep acidic cleaners away, and favour honed or brushed finishes in wet or high-traffic zones. Polished Sunny Dark gives a warm, glossy surface that suits lobbies and fireplaces. Contact us for available sizes and finishes.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sunny Dark suitable for high-traffic floors?
It is used for lobby and lift-lobby floors, but as a limestone it benefits from a honed or brushed surface, sealing and routine resealing. For very heavy commercial traffic, Galala or an Egyptian granite will hold its finish longer.
Why does Sunny Dark vary in colour between slabs?
The Sunny bed grades from light to dark within the same quarries, so blocks differ in depth of amber. Suppliers colour-sort each order, and importers normally agree an acceptable range or reference sample before production.
